TORONTO— The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's basketball team is excited to welcome versatile guard Fernando De Los Santos to its 2026-27 recruiting class.

A highly regarded graduate from St. Jude's Academy, the Brampton, Ont. native joins the Bold following his 2025-26 season with the Monroe University Mustangs, an NJCAA Division I school. De Los Santos helped the Mustangs secure their 10th District championship in March of 2026. 

Over 22 NJCAA games with the Mustangs, De Los Santos averaged 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 39 per cent from the field and 81 per cent on his free throws.  

From 2021-2025, De Los Santos represented the Dominican Republic Youth National Team, making appearances at multiple FIBA international tournaments.

In 2023, De Los Santos was selected to participate in the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Americas Camp. BWB Americas brings together the top male and female players ages 18 and under from Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean to learn directly from NBA, WNBA and FIBA players, as well as basketball legends and coaches. 

That same year, De Los Santos helped Team Dominican Republic win a silver medal at the Centrobasket U17 Championship. 

Most recently, the 6'4" guard has represented his home country at the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, something he considers the highlight of his basketball career thus far.

In addition to basketball, De Los Santos also has a passion for baseball, splitting time between left field and pitching. In 2019, De Los Santos was named to the Ontario 13U Provincial Team, where he helped win a gold medal at the 13U National Championships. 

De Los Santos becomes the fourth commitment in the Bold's 2026-27 recruiting class, a team that continues to build on an already competitive OUA roster.
