What is Bold Giving Day?
Bold Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising online fundraising event that will ignite the spirit of our student athletes, coaches and broader community to raise funds to support excellence on and off the playing field. Promoted and managed centrally, each team will have their own fundraising page with tangible goals. Student athletes and coaches will ignite the passion of their communities and fan base to come together in a day of philanthropy.
When is Bold Giving Day?
Bold Giving Day will be on Dec 3, 2024. Gifts made on this day may be eligible for a 1:1 match, doubling your impact!
How can I support Bold Giving Day?
Making a gift directly to your favourite Bold team is the best way to show your support. Sharing and encouraging others to participate to help your team reach their goal is another way to support Bold Giving Day! The more we share #BoldGivingDay, the more likely our student-athletes and teams are to reach their goals.

Crowdfunding is a natural fit for athletics, and through leveraging a matching fund, we can ensure that donor funds go ever further to support our teams! 100% of funds raised through Bold Giving Day will go directly to the team you choose to support.

Can I make a donation before December 3?
Yes, gifts can be made to the Bold Giving Day portal or in advance by cheque, and will be applied to the team total. Matching fund opportunities will only be applied on December 3, unless the total maximum fundraising amount has not been achieved, in which case offline or early donations will count towards the matching fund.
Will I get a tax receipt?
Most donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Donations made via Toronto Metropolitan University’s giving page will be electronically receipted. If you make your gift over the phone or by cheque, you will be issued a hard-copy of the receipt. Please note: tax receipts will only be issued in the name of the credit card holder or cheque signatory.
