TORONTO— The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's basketball team is thrilled to welcome 6'7" forward Olivier Desjardins to its 2026-27 recruiting class. 

Hailing from Canada's capital city, Desjardins arrives at TMU with a wealth of high-level basketball experience across Ontario and on the national stage.

In 2022, Desjardins helped Team Ontario secure the U15 National Championship. After representing his province, he then went on to play in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA), spending two seasons playing at Fort Erie International Academy.

This past year, Desjardins joined the OSBA prep basketball program at Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School in Thornhill, Ont., where he continued to enhance his game, serving as a key offensive contributor. He averaged 16 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game, shooting an impressive 42 per cent from the 3-point line and 91 per cent on his free throws. 

Describing himself as a hard worker who's ready to make sacrifices for his team's success, Desjardins brings his high basketball IQ and size to the Bold roster. 

Dedicated both on and off the court, Desjaridins is an honour roll student from grades 9 through 12. He plans to pursue a degree in accounting and finance through the Ted Rogers School of Management.

Looking forward to joining the Bold program, Desjardins is already familiar with current Bold guard Kevin Toth and fellow incoming recruit Tobe Ezeokafor, who he played with at Fort Erie International Academy. 

"It's a program that I feel will help me get better everyday and let me be myself," said Desjardins. "I believe it's a great fit for me, the culture established will help me be successful and push me to maximize my development on and off the court."

Desjardins marks the third addition to the Bold's 2026-27 roster, a team that continues to build in the off-season.
