BURLINGTON, Ont. – Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) men's basketball guard Aaron Rhooms has been named the OUA Men's Basketball Player of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to win the award. 

Aaron Rhooms – Men's Basketball – 4th Year – Business Management

• Led the OUA in scoring with an average of 22 points per game
• Shot 46.7 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from three-point range
• Scored an OUA season-high 43 points in a win at Brock
• Scored in double digits in every game this season
• Recorded four double-doubles
• Finished in the top 10 in the OUA in rebounding, grabbing 6.7 per contest
• Recognized as an OUA First-Team All-Star
• Adds these honours to an already decorated career, which includes OUA First-Team All-Star (2022-23), OUA Second-Team All-Star (2023-24), OUA East First-Team All-Star (2021-22), OUA All-Rookie Team (2021-22), Eyeopener TMU Rookie of the Year (2021-22), U SPORTS Rookie of the Year (2021-22), and OUA Rookie of the Year (2021-22)
