Cailey Davis has been named the 2025-26 recipient of the OUA East Champion of EDI Award, while first-year players
Maddy Collins and
Sydney Pyburn earned spots on the OUA East All-Rookie Team.
The Champion of EDI Award recognizes a student-athlete's dedication to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) both on and off the ice. Davis is the first player in TMU history to receive the honour since the award's inception in 2022-23.
Cailey Davis — Forward — 4th Year — Psychology
- Team captain in her 5th year at TMU, Cailey has been an Academic All-Canadian every year and maintains a CGPA above 4.00/4.30 while completing a Master's in Psychology.
- Holds the program record for most career games played (125), appearing in every regular season and playoff game during her five-year career.
- Known for her durability and team-first play, contributing major power play, penalty kill, and shot-blocking minutes while accumulating only 28 penalty minutes.
- Identifies as a member of the BIPOC community and serves as a visible role model and advocate for diversity in hockey.
- First-ever recipient of the Andrea C. Bibbs Group Award, recognizing the achievements of a Black student-athlete in their final undergraduate year at TMU.
- Member of the Caribbean Women's Hockey Team, promoting hockey within communities of colour through international tournaments.
- Actively involved in community engagement, including a First Nations Equipment Drive, speaking with the Black Student Alliance, and participating in TMU's Black History Month campaign.
- Beginning a coaching career, participating in the U SPORTS Creating Coaches program, coaching youth teams, and completing key coaching certifications while working at an elite hockey training centre.
Maddy Collins — Defence — 1st Year — Criminology
- Finished the season with six points (two goals, four assists) in 24 games.
- Led TMU rookies in assists and points.
- Scored her first OUA goal and recorded a multi-point game against the Western Mustangs on Nov. 16.
- Assisted in back-to-back games against the Windsor Lancers on Jan. 30 and the Nipissing Lakers on Jan. 31.
- The rookie's shootout game-winning goal against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Jan. 17 was a potential highlight of the year.
Sydney Pyburn — Goalie — 1st Year — Business Management
- Made 21 appearances between the pipes during a standout rookie season.
- Challenged numerous TMU Bold individual season records
- 556 saves (3rd)
- 922 save percentage (3rd)
- 2.30 goals-against average (5th)
- 21 games played (2nd)
- Over 1,226 minutes (2nd).
- Earned her first OUA shutout in a 1-0 win against the Brock Badgers on Nov. 6, stopping 24 shots.
- Got her second shutout in a 2-0 victory (28 saves) on the road against the Carleton Ravens Feb. 6.
- Made a season-high 40 saves against the Guelph Gryphons on Jan. 23.
