Box Score TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams women's hockey team allowed three goals in the opening nine minutes and could never recover, dropping a 3-0 decision to the No. 9 ranked York Lions on Saturday afternoon.
York's Courtney Gardiner opened the scoring just three and a half minutes into the game before defender Ava Ricker-Singh scored a minute and a half after that to give the Lions a quick 2-0 advantage just five minutes into the game.Â
The Rams defence looked flat-footed after the strong York start and the Lions forecheck capitalized, as the cycle game found an open Brooke Anderson in front of the net to pot the third Lions goal at 8:51 of the first.
Ryerson was able to hold the Lions off the board for the remainder of the game, but struggled to find their own offence.
Despite having seven power plays to work with, the Rams couldn't set up offensive zone time and was unable to generate dangerous scoring chances.

Rachel Seeley (Ottawa, Ont.) saw her first action of the season, coming in for the Rams after the opening two goals. She played a steady game and looked solid in her first appearance.
Ryerson will look to bounce back from a pair of losses this week when they return to the ice on Friday, November 8th to host the Queen's Gaels on Mattamy Home Ice.
