TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team is excited to welcome a new addition to its defensive core with the commitment of defender Madeline Collins to the 2025-26 recruiting class.
"Madeline is a steady force on the backend, she uses her size to initiate physical play," said Bold head coach
Lisa Haley. "Her ability to play left and right side makes her a valuable and adaptable asset on defense."
Hailing from West Vancouver, Collins joins TMU after three seasons with the Fraser Valley Rush U18 AAA program. During the 2022-2023 season, she was a part of the campaign that helped the team secure both regional and provincial championships. Throughout her time with the Rush, she earned several notable accolades, including serving as an assistant captain, being named BCEHL Player of the Month three times in the 2024-25 season, and earning a spot on the BCEHL 2024-25 All-Star Team.
Collins will reunite with former teammates
Katie Leroux and
Nahvin Bal, having played two seasons alongside them with the Rush.
A deeply disciplined and goal-oriented defender, Collins brings her willingness to learn and coachability to the Bold lineup. Honing her physicality on the ice, she also brings her competitive spirit.
Collins will make the move across the country to study Criminology and looks forward to attending the downtown university: "It offers the right mix of academics and a strong hockey program, it's also in a great location close to family," she said.
Collins is the newest addition to a promising 2025-26 recruiting class aiming to make an impact in the OUA.Â
