TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team is excited to announce the commitment of goaltender Sydney Pyburn to the 2025-26 recruiting class.
"Sydney is athletic and agile in her crease," said Head Coach
Lisa Haley. "Her explosiveness will translate well to the fast OUA pace. We look forward to seeing her compete in the net."
Hailing from Mississauga, Ont., Pyburn brings a wealth of experience between the pipes. She has played for the Mississauga Terriers AA, West Mall Lighting U17 AA, the Toronto Royals U18 AA, and most recently, with the Burlington Jr. Barracudas U22 AA. In 2024, she was named to the GTHL All-Star Team. She also served as a captain for her high school varsity team at Loyola CSS.Â
In 2024, Pyburn made history as the first female recipient of the GTHL Norman Sharp U18 Scholarship, awarded for both excellence in academics and athletics.
Deeply passionate about hockey, Pyburn adds a competitive edge and team-first mentality to the Bold. Known for her speed and confidence in the crease, she remains dedicated to improvement and high-level performance.
Studying Business Management at TMU, Pyburn looks forward to growth both academically and on the ice. She appreciates that the downtown campus is not too far from home, allowing her to remain close to the continuous support from her family.
Sydney is the final recruit joining a talented 2025-26 recruiting class that's ready to make a strong impact in the OUA.Â
