TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team has bolstered its future in net, announcing the commitment of goaltender Katie Frost to the 2025-26 recruiting class.

"We are very excited to have Katie join the TMU Bold Family," said Bold head coach Lisa Haley. "She is technically sound in her crease, creating a calm confidence when she makes saves. We look forward to seeing her steady presence between the pipes."

Frost joins TMU from Alberta's St. Albert Slash U18AAA program, where she helped the team to back-to-back AFHL medals—bronze in 2024 and silver in 2025. She previously played for the Rocky Mountain Raiders at both the U15 and U18 levels and was named an all-star goaltender at U15AA provincials.

A fiercely competitive and composed goalie, Frost prides herself on her consistency and drive. Her strong mental game and work ethic have become defining traits as she continues to develop between the pipes.

Off the ice, Frost will study Chemistry at TMU and says her decision to join the Bold was influenced by the people and the campus atmosphere.

"When I went to visit campus and meet the girls I felt immediately welcomed," she said. "I have never been around a group of people so caring and welcoming to someone new, which allowed me to feel like a part of the team already. The coaches did too and also made me feel comfortable and supported, showing me all the incredible resources I would gain if I chose TMU."

Coming from the small community of Millarville, Alta., the transition to downtown Toronto is a big change—but one Frost is ready for.

"I loved the campus and the feeling of being in the centre of such a big city. The hands-on learning environment and academic support system for students became key factors when deciding to come to TMU," she added.

Frost becomes the newest piece of a strong 2025-26 recruiting class looking to make its mark in the OUA.
