TMU Bold Women’s Hockey Signs Forward Abby Fletcher

TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team has announced the signing of Abby Fletcher, a forward from Milton, Ont., ahead of the 2025-26 OUA season.

"On the ice, we love the versatility and consistency that Abby brings to her game," said TMU head coach Lisa Haley. "She plays all 200 feet of the ice and can line up at both centre and wing, complementing a wide range of linemates. Her hockey IQ and attention to detail will serve her well as she transitions to the next level. Welcome to the TMU Bold, Abby!"

Fletcher comes to TMU from the North York Storm Jr. program, with additional experience playing for the North Halton Twisters and Milton Winterhawks over a 13-year hockey career. She captured a provincial silver medal with the Twisters in the 2023-24 season.

A multi-sport athlete at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School, Fletcher also competed in soccer, field hockey, flag football, volleyball, and softball. She earned MVP and offensive player honours in field hockey and flag football, respectively, while being named to the Honour Roll for three consecutive years.

Fletcher, who will study Business Management at TMU, said her decision was influenced by the strength of the university's academic and athletic offerings.

"I chose TMU because of the coaches, facilities, and business school reputation," she said. "From the beginning, the coaches and players were very welcoming and supportive, and their energy and coaching style made it clear that TMU was the right place for me to grow as an athlete, student, and person."

With a strong foundation in both athletics and academics, Fletcher is poised to make an immediate impact at TMU.
