Aaron Rhooms has been named Ontario University Athletics men's basketball player of the year for the second consecutive season, while head coach
David DeAveiro has been named the conference's coach of the year.
Aaron Rhooms — 5th Year — Business Management
- Also named an OUA first-team all-star.
- Finished second in the OUA in scoring, averaging 22.0 points per game, while shooting 50 per cent from the field on 376 attempts.
- Delivered multiple game-winning baskets with fewer than five seconds remaining.
- Recorded three performances of 30 or more points.
- Ranked 12th in the conference in rebounding at 7.2 per game.
- Finished inside the OUA's top 10 in three-pointers made, shooting 37 per cent from beyond the arc.
- Led the Bold to the No. 1 seed in the OUA.
- Named OUA player of the year and a first-team all-Canadian in 2024-25.
- Is a five-time OUA all-star, including four first-team selections, and was named OUA and U Sports rookie of the year in 2021-22.
David DeAveiro — Head Coach (6th Season)
- Coached the Bold to a 17-5 record and the top seed in the OUA.
- Ranked as high as No. 3 in Canada.
- Won the final five games of the regular season.
- Held opponents to 67.9 points per game (second-best in U Sports) and a 36.8 opponent field-goal percentage (second-best in U Sports).
- Averaged 82.9 points per game (10th-best in U Sports) and shot 44.7 per cent from the field (ninth-best nationally).
- Three-time OUA East coach of the year (2006, 2007, 2010) and six-time RSEQ coach of the year (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019).
- Becomes the second coach in program history to be named OUA coach of the year, joining Patrick Tatham (2015-16).
