TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's basketball team is pleased to announce the signing of Juliette Gargya, a guard from Quebec City and the first member of the Bold's 2026-27 recruiting class.
"We are thrilled to have Juliette join our women's basketball program," said Bold head coach Carly Clarke. "She exemplifies everything we look for in student-athletes — an exceptional person and student, a great teammate, and a hardworking, dedicated player who is driven to improve and has a strong desire to win. Juliette will fit in perfectly, and we can't wait to welcome her to campus."
Gargya brings multiple years of experience competing in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), where she stood out for her play, leadership, and academic success. She served as captain of Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu during the 2024–25 season, leading the team to a provincial championship. Gargya was named Finals MVP and later represented Quebec at the Canadian Championship, where she earned semifinal MVP honours.
Over her three seasons at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Gargya's accomplishments included All-Rookie Team recognition in 2024, CCAA National Scholar honours in 2025, and her school's Leadership Award in 2023.
For Gargya, the decision to move to Toronto and attend TMU was shaped by the program's culture.
"The team's identity really resonated with my values," Gargya said. "During my visit, I could truly see myself there, and it felt just like home. I know I am going to grow as a player and as a person over the next few years thanks to my future teammates and coaches. I am really excited for my next chapter!
Gargya will study Biomedical Sciences at TMU.
