Bold reach to Quebec for guard Maxime Louis-Jean

The TMU men's basketball team have continued to expand their roster's footprint, this time signing Montreal Prep star Maxime Louis-Jean out of Collége St-Jean Vianney. The 6-2 point guard joins a Bold squad that has gone both international and across the nation to improve off its OUA first-round finish last season.

Louis-Jean signs with the Bold after serving as captain for CSJV his junior and senior season and having been captain at his previous school, Montmorency College. At Montmorency College Louis-Jean also secured both MVP and the team heart award in 2023 while also being named to the RSEQ all-star team.

Priding himself on his commitment to the game and his team, Louis-Jean looks to be a positive force inside the Bold locker room.

"I am a strong leader with an impeccable work ethic, consistently the first in the gym. I am coachable and a valuable teammate, always eager to improve every time I step on the court."

When he steps on campus, Louis-Jean will join the Psychology program at TMU. He credits a 2023 exhibition against the Bold, while a student at CSJV, as the spark that eventually brought him to the blue and gold.

"I chose TMU because I played against them back in October 2023, and I see myself going to war with them. Their strong sense of brotherhood caught my attention. During my visit, I got to see how they prepare before games, and I appreciate that they take preparation seriously, just like me," Louis-Jean added of his decision to play for head coach Dave DeAveiro.

The Montreal-native also made clear his fondness for his new city when citing his reasons for joining the program. "Who wouldn't love the city of Toronto?".

Maxime Louis-Jean and the rest of the men's basketball team tip-off play this fall, starting with a road matchup against Nipissing on October 25th.
