TORONTO - U SPORTS has announced the official seeding and schedule for the 2024 U Cup men's hockey national championship, hosted by the TMU Bold, coming up this March 14-17 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
The host Bold, who earned the OUA silver medal in conference play, has been ranked No. 4 and will take on No. 5 Calgary, the Canada West finalists.
The UNB REDS earned the No. 1 seed and enter the championship as winners of the AUS with their 30-0 unbeaten conference record.
The complete field, in seeding order, is as follows:

2. UQTR Patriotes, OUA Champions, 21-7 regular season record
3. UBC Thunderbirds, Canada West Champions, 22-6 regular season record
4. TMU Bold, OUA Finalists, 19-9 regular season record
5. Calgary Dinos, Canada West Finalists, 21-7Â regular season record
6. McGill Redbirds, OUA Bronze Medalists, 21-7 regular season record
7. Moncton Aigles Bleus, AUS Finalists, 16-14 regular season record

In men's hockey, the three conference champions are seeded in the top three based on their final national ranking, while the OUA finalist is automatically placed in the No. 4 spot. The remaining teams are then placed to avoid intraconference matchups in the first round.
Quarter-final action begins Thursday, March 14 with two games, followed by the final quarter-finals on Friday, March 15.

Semifinal action will follow on March 16, with the bronze medal and championship game taking place Sunday, March 17.
