Rainout dampens Rams season record, now at 1-5-1

The Rams fastpitch team couldn't find the win column last weekend, posting one tie and two losses while one game will be rescheduled due to a rainout.

York 7 - Rams 7

The York Lions tied the game in the sixth inning of an eventual rainout against Rams fastpitch on Saturday.

The Rams got things moving in the first inning, scoring two runs on a stolen base. The team put up five runs in the second inning, with big bats being led by Jessica Sutton, Madison MacKenzie, Madeline Gillis, and Caitlin Tomotsugu.

Tomotsugu went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rams fastpitch in hits. Tomotsugu also led the team in base-running with three stolen bases.

The second game against York is to be rescheduled due to a rainout.

Queen's 9 - Rams 2

Rams fastpitch struggled to get the offence going on Sunday, leading to a 9-2 loss against the Queen's Gaels in the first of their doubleheader.

Jessica Sutton was on the rubber for the Rams, striking out two. On offence, Caitlin Tomotsugu scored a home run in the sixth inning while Rachel Aversa and Hannah Delorme also collected one hit each.

Queen's 13 - Rams 0

Queen's fastpitch took and held the lead in a 13-0 loss for Rams fastpitch, struggling to contain the Gaels' offence.

Zoe Delorme started the game for the Rams, while Daniela Fava threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.

The Rams were unable to score against the Gaels' zero errors on defence.

Next up for the Rams is a doubleheader against Toronto on October 2, followed by a single game in Ottawa against the Gee-Gees on October 3.
