PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's soccer team opened their first road trip of the season with a 4-2 win over the Trent Excalibur on Sunday afternoon.
The Bold offence struck early in the first half, with
Natalie Moynihan scoring her second goal in as many games in the 13th minute. Just three minutes later, first-year midfielder
Taylor Fazzari doubled the lead from the penalty spot, netting her first career goal.
Mera Saleh added the third in the 38th minute to give TMU a 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Saleh scored her second of the match early in the second half, finishing a pass from
Telaijah Folkes for Folkes' first career point. Trent answered with two late goals but couldn't close the gap. TMU goalkeeper
Elisa Paolucci made six saves.
With the win, the Bold's record improves to 1-1. They will continue their road swing Friday, Sept. 5, against Queen's in Kingston, Ont. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. and will be streamed on
