OSHAWA, Ont. – In an early Sunday afternoon match, the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's soccer team tied the Ontario Tech University Ridgebacks, 0-0.
The Bold entered the contest coming off an exciting win at Trent University on Friday and were hoping to keep the win streak alive.
With their goal in mind, the Bold held their line against a very offensive team. Going back and forth throughout the quiet first half, the Bold wanted to change the course of the game in the second.
Forward
Aalayah Lully took control up and down the field, creating multiple goal-scoring chances.
The Bold fought hard in a physical match, and the transfer from West Alabama, defender
Emily Porteous, kept the Ridgebacks well out of the Bold zone.
During the second half, the Bold stepped up on offense and pressured the Ridgebacks into their zone, but were unable to finish.
Goalkeeper
Elisa Paolucci was a leading voice on the field as she guided her team away from the net.
Near the end of the match, the Bold had one more chance in extra time to come through with the game-winning goal, but neither team managed to score and the game finished at 0-0.
The Bold will return home for their next game, against Royal Military College on September 21st at 1:00 p.m. Admission will be free for all TMU home soccer matches this season and every home match will also be broadcast live on OUA.tv.
