ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The TMU Bold figure skating club skated in nine different events while finishing tied for eighth place as a team at this year's OUA championship hosted at Brock University.
The team's top result came from
Tina Mai, placing fifth in the Open Gold Artistic event. The duo of
Emily Erner and Julia Wallce came in seventh place in the Intermediate Couples Pairs, the team's top finish on day two of the competition.
The Bold had a pair of eighth place results in the Star 8/9 Couples Dance event from
Regina Bautista and
Ines Jaber, and in the Pairs Fours event, represented by
Annika Ferronato,
Marion Pollard, Wallace, and Mai.
Pollard also finished in ninth place in the Novice Short Program, while the Dance Fours group of Bautista,
Ella Herrington,
Lia Torre, and Reagan Ziegler also came ninth.
Hailey O'Brien skated the Star 10 Solo Dance and finished 10th, while Torre and Ziegler teamed up for a 10th place result in the Star 10 Couples Dance event. Rounding out the competition, Herrington finished 10th in the Gold Solo Dance.
As a team, the Bold accumulated two points in the team standings to finish tied for eighth in the event, while the Western Mustangs won their second straight title.
