Bold add goal scoring prowess, landing striker Mauro Lulli as their newest recruit

TORONTO - The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's soccer team is excited to announce Mauro Lulli as the second member of their recruiting class ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Hailing from Oakville, Ont., Lulli joins the Bold family from Scrosoppi FC in League 1. Prior to his time with Scrosoppi, he played with Morolo FC and spent three years in the Toronto FC program. Mauro attended and played for St.Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School in 2018, a year in which he was also selected as a member of Team Ontario.

"Mauro has shown that at every level he is a striker who can create goals for himself and others," said head coach Filip Prostran. "Mauro's character, ambition and work rate were attributes that stood out to us right away during the recruiting process. We are very excited to have him join our program."

Lulli is no stranger to racking up accolades over the course of his young career. He was named MVP to go along with a championship in the Ontario Summer Games in 2018, as well as a Dallas Cup championship and tournament's top goal scorer award in 2019. The 2019-20 Generation Adidas top goal scorer will look to bring his touch and determination to the Bold for this upcoming season.

Lulli has also competed on an international level and knows what it takes to compete with any team from around the world. "My time in Italy was special, I trained at Milan, Genoa, Entella and had a successful season where I proved to myself that I was capable," said Lulli. "I like to think of myself as an inspired and determined athlete. I understand the role I play and the end goal and will not settle for anything less than the maximum."

Lulli will be joining the Business Management program at TMU this fall.

Off the pitch, Lulli loves to travel and embrace new cultures and enjoys video games as a way to disconnect. He hopes to keep traveling as the year goes on with one goal in mind for joining TMU: "I want to win nationals. I believe in the team, staff, and the entire project and I expect nothing less than being victorious in Cape Breton this year."

Lulli will kick off his blue and gold career later this fall and stands as the second addition to the Bold's roster.
