Marta Cerovic joins women's volleyball ahead of 2023-24 season

TORONTO - The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's volleyball team is proud to announce Marta Cerovic as their second commitment for the 2023-24 season.

The Etobicoke, Ont. native will stay local and suit up for the Bold on the left side.

A long time member of the E381 volleyball club, Cerovic has an impressive 17 medals from Ontario Volleyball Association events over her career, including 10 gold medals. Cerovic has served as the E381 team captain, and earned MVP honours at the Humber College tournament, something she lists as the highlight of her career thus far.

Entering the Early Childhood Studies program at TMU, Cerovic is an honour roll student from Applewood Heights S.S.

"I chose TMU because of how close it is to home as I didn't want to be far from home, and it has the program that I am interested in," said Cerovic.

"She is a hard hitting left side that is a leader on her current club team," noted Bold assistant coach, Brett Hagarty. "She will be able to impact our program with her willingness to learn."

Those sentiments are echoed by Cerovic herself, stating, "I have a strong work ethic and I'm always willing to put my all into getting better at my sport. I'm open to new learning strategies and suggestions on how to become a better player."

The outside hitter will kick off their blue and gold career later this fall and stands as the second addition to the Bold's roster.
