TORONTO - The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's volleyball team is proud to announce the commitment of Kaiya Krahn for the 2023-24 season.
The Winnipeg, Man. native will make the move to Ontario's capital city and play on the left side. Krahn has spent the last five years with the Jr. Bisons Gold club program where they won a 17U provincial title and earned the club provincial MVP award that season. Krahn has also earned all-star status at the high school provincial championship level, where they co-captained the Vincent Massey Collegiate squad.
Entering the Biomedical Sciences program at TMU, Krahn is a two-time honours with distinction student and is looking forward to their classes.
"TMU offered the programs that I was interested in pursuing...and when I toured the campus, I immediately loved it," said Krahn. "I loved the location as well as all the activities and opportunities TMU offered."
A self-described passionate, hard-working player on the court who is willing to learn and change to get better, Krahn also connected with the team right away and is excited to join their new teammates.
"When I met the team I immediately liked all of the girls, the coaches, and the facilities," said Krahn.
"She is a well rounded left side and has a stabilizing effect on the court," noted assistant coach,
Brett Hagarty, about the newest member of the Bold. "I believe one of her best attributes is her competitive drive, and she will impact our program with that fire and desire to perform and compete."
The outside hitter will kick off their blue and gold career later this fall and stands as the first addition to the Bold's roster.
