Huggins named OUA Female Field MVP

BURLINGTON, Ont. - Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the track and field award winners and all-stars on Friday, with Dallyssa Huggins making history for the Rams by earning the program's first ever major award in the sport.

Huggins became the first Rams track and field athlete to medal at the OUA championship, winning a pair of silver medals in the pentathlon and individual high jump events. She also competed in the individual shot put and placed fifth. Her pentathlon score of 3,883 points broke the previous OUA record, and her jump of 1.77m in the pentathlon high jump set a new meet record. Huggins' performance in each event surpassed the qualifying standards for U SPORTS and she will head to the national championship for all three events.
