Six players reach double digits as Bold rout Laurentian

SUDBURY, Ont. - Six different players reached double digits in scoring and the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's basketball team reached triple digits for the first time this season, registering a commanding 100-69 win over Laurentian on Friday night.

Lincoln Rosebush paced the Bold offence with 22 points while Lamar Everd matched his season-high with 15 points.

The Bold got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 17-2 lead and rounding out the quarter with a whopping 29 points to Laurentian's 15. By halftime, TMU held a commanding 51-32 lead, capped off by a Rosebush buzzer beater.

The Voyageurs got to within 12 points at 55-43 with 6:05 to play in the third quarter but that was as close as they would come for the rest of the evening. At the end of the third, the Bold lead had ballooned to 27 points at 76-49.

TMU didn't let their foot off the gas in the final ten minutes, posting 24 more points. The scoring came from all areas of the floor, including this pretty cut from Jaren Jones.

The Voyageurs did manage their best offensive quarter with 20 points in the fourth, but it was far too little, too late, as TMU emerged with the 100-69 victory.

The Bold shot an impressive 59.6% from the field on the night. They also took advantage of their time at the charity stripe, converting 23-of-29 from the free throw line.

With two straight wins under their belts, the Bold look to extend their win streak to three games when they visit the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday evening. Tip-off from North Bay is scheduled for 8 p.m.
