Bold clinch playoff berth with 6-1 win over Voyageurs

SUDBURY, Ont. - The Bold men's soccer team clinched an OUA playoff spot Sunday afternoon after winning 6-1 against the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury. The team currently ranks second in the OUA East division.

Forward Ameer Kinani netted three goals on four shots on goal in Sunday's game, while defender Tristan Marshall scored two and midfielder Bilal Reslan assisted on four.

The team's dominance on the pitch was evident early on, when Marshall put the Bold on the board in only the 13th minute of the game. The shots only picked up from there, with the team's second goal coming from Luca Di Marco right at the half.

By the 90th minute mark, TMU had taken 15 shots over Laurentian's eight, with 10 of them on goal.

"It was a tough weekend but we were able to work together and secure six points and a playoff berth," Kinani said, adding that he was proud and thankful for his teammates, and the coaching and athletic therapy staff for their work behind the scenes.

"Our job is not done yet though. We will continue to work hard and improve every week."

The Bold will look to extend their now seven-game win streak in their last two games of the regular season next weekend against the Queen's Gaels and the Carleton Ravens on Friday at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday at 3:15 p.m., respectively.
