Men's soccer signs Sigma FC goalkeeper Ambrus

TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men's soccer team is pleased to announce the addition of goalkeeper Eduard Ambrus ahead of the 2021-2022 season.

Ambrus is a native of Caransebes, Romania who joins the Rams after spending four years at Mississauga-based academy Sigma FC.

Prior to his time at Sigma, one of Canada's top development academies, Ambrus spent six years at Queen City United in Regina, Sask. where he represented Team Saskatchewan and had trials with European clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. and Jonkoping Sodra IF.

"I would describe myself as a passionate athlete who is ambitious and driven but also confident," says Ambrus.

A St. Francis Xavier Secondary School graduate, Ambrus will be enrolling in Ryerson's Criminology or Business Management program in the fall.

"I chose Ryerson because I can further my academics at one of the best programs in the country and can play on a scholarship for one of the best U SPORTS teams as well," voices Ambrus on why he committed to Ryerson.

"The facilities and fields look great, although I haven't gotten a chance to see them in person, I am excited to get started and train while also attending class (hopefully in person) on the wonderful campus."
