Rams look to extend winning streak against Ridgebacks this week

TORONTO - The Rams men's basketball team will be looking to extend their winning streak this week in Oshawa in a two-game series against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

While the team has had a shaky 1-3 start to the season, Ontario Tech is 1-5 on a four-game losing streak. With two more games played, the opposing team has only scored nine percent more points than the Rams and has already conceded almost double the points.

A naturally talented shooting team, the Rams are ranked fourth in the province for their three-pointer percentage, a skill set they could use to leverage themselves against the Ridgebacks.

Fans should keep an eye out for Rams rookie Aaron Rhooms, who is ranked third in Ontario in field goal percentage and eighth in scoring in his debut season, averaging 22 points per game. The team's Tom Dumont is also on the OUA leader board, coming in hot and first at the free-throw line with a .929 shooting percentage.

But Ontario Tech's weakest area is the number of turnovers they allow, something the team will need to take advantage of on the court this week.

The Rams have only ever played one game against Ontario Tech, which they won in 2019. Tune in to OUA.tv to support the team live as they shoot for a second victory on Wednesday. Game two of the series is on Saturday evening.

Tipoff for both games is scheduled for 8 p.m.
