TORONTO - The Ryerson DancePak is pleased to announce the following details for their 2020-21 tryouts.

The Ryerson DancePak is pleased to announce the following details for their 2020-21 auditions. Due to COVID-19, the audition process will be a little different this year. To keep both dancers and faculty safe, the audition process will be online. We will be looking for dancers with great technique, excellent performance quality, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Since auditions are online we ask that you submit the following videos and forms highlighted in the online submissions document.

The audition will consist of a basic across the floor technical progression the dancer must video themselves doing, along with a jazz and hip hop combo that you will learn, perform, and submit via video. (Note: returning members must audition for both jazz and hip hop. New members can choose to audition for either or both styles.)

Dancers will be notified by email within 48 hours whether or not they are invited to the callback. Callbacks will be held September 20th-27th online and will be the same format as the audition but with a contemporary combo.

Previous technical training is required. The team is looking for dancers with great technique, excellent performance quality, a positive attitude, a superior work ethic and a willingness to learn. 

Please dress in a manner that we are able to see your lines. No baggy clothing.

The team is open to all current Ryerson students from any program. 

ABOUT THE TEAM
As the official dance team for the Ryerson Rams, the Ryerson DancePak strives to encourage school spirit, entertain Rams fans, and represent Ryerson at the top level in Canadian collegiate competitive dance. 

The team is composed of experienced dancers from all programs of study, who want to continue performing and competing at an advanced university level. The DancePak focuses mainly on contemporary, jazz, hip hop and lyrical but are able to perform other various genres including acro and tap. Throughout our season team members perform and appear at Ryerson Rams home basketball and hockey games, take part in community events as well as compete in three university/college dance competitions. 

The DancePak practices twice a week: Sunday's and a min of one week night. (Tuesday or Wednesday). Further information about the team and tryouts can be found on the team's info sheet or by emailing dancepak@ryerson.ca
