Rams women’s basketball announce Fedick as first 2020-21 recruit

TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams women's basketball team is pleased to announce Haley Fedick as the first member of the program's 2020-21 recruiting class.

Fedick, a native of Sherwood Park, Alta. is a 6'2 forward coming from Jasper Place High School.

As well as playing at the high school level, Fedick has spent the last five years with Team Alberta and was a part of two Canada Basketball National Team age group camps.

"Haley is a perfect fit for our program," says Rams Head Coach Carly Clarke. "Being a driven and hardworking player with a competitive attitude, these attributes will continue to move our program forward. Her size and strength, combined with a versatile skill set, including the ability to shoot the 3, will make her a tough matchup at the U SPORTS level."

The Rams have added a player who has been a leader everywhere she goes, having served as team captain for Team Alberta, Junior Pandas Basketball, and in high school on both varsity basketball and volleyball teams.

Fedick describes herself as "an extremely hardworking, dedicated and competitive athlete. I'm a positive leader and help my teammates when they need me. I get in the gym whenever I am able to and always want to improve and get better."

Fedick shared a variety of reasons for her commitment to Ryerson, saying "I love the location and size of the school. Their basketball program I think fits me very well and how I like to play, and because of the coaches and having female coaches who can mentor me and I can learn from as I want to be a coach one day."
