KINGSTON, Ont. - The Ryerson Rams women's fencing team finished seventh overall at the OUA championship this weekend and is bringing home a medal as the epee relay team won bronze.
Ryerson had a pair of chances at individual bronze medals but fell just shy, with both
Erika Dominguez (Oakville, Ont.) and
Roxanna Belaoussoff (Toronto) finishing fourth in the foil and epee disciplines, respectively.
Dominguez was the lone competitor in the foil event for the Rams but she joined the sabre relay team to help the squad finish sixth.
In the individual sabre event, Ely Desandoli (Toronto) was Ryerson's top finisher in 10th place, while
Milena Oliva (Toronto) finished 15th and
Buke Ayra (Toronto) placed 23rd.
In the epee event, last year's silver medal winner Natash Kis-Toth (Richmond, B.C.) was upset and finished 15th, while
Madeleine Greenwood and
