TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams are about to head on the road for a trio of games, starting this Saturday against the York Lions. With a 2-3 record, Ryerson will look to repeat their 80-67 defeat of the Lions in their home opener.
Besides that 13-point victory, every one of the Rams' games has gone down to the wire, finishing with a score differential of four or less. The ball has not exactly bounced in Ryerson's favour as the squad just recently snapped a three-game losing skid. Their 78-75 win over Windsor was a relief heading into an eight-day break, with time to regroup.
The Rams have played only one road game thus far, losing 65-62 against the Brock Badgers. Having already dropped three games, Ryerson is in somewhat unfamiliar territory.
However, plenty of talent from their extremely successful 21-2 season last year is still able to support the squad.
Jayden Frederick (Scarborough, Ont.) is perhaps having his best season yet, averaging 25 points-per-game, four more than his previous game-high of 21 from last season.
Frederick, who saw time with York for two seasons before coming to Ryerson, posted 32 points in this year's home opener. Plenty of eyes will be on the 6-5 guard at the Tait McKenzie Centre on Saturday.
York is struggling, having dropped their last five, leading to a 1-5 record.
Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. and is available for streaming on OUA.tv.
