TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams are back at home for a two-game series against the Lakehead Thunderwolves this weekend. The Rams have won all their past matchups since 2011, so they will be looking to continue that streak and improve on their 1-1 season record.
The Rams come back home from a disappointing loss against rivals, the Brock Badgers. After a slow start to the game, the Rams could not find their rhythm, while the Badgers kept dominating offensively. The Badgers outscored the Rams in all four quarters except for the third where the Rams turned the tables with a strong and improved performance. However, that burst of offence was not enough to topple the Badgers and they would lose by three points.
The Rams are going to have to come to the court fresh and play like the strong team they are if they want to beat a talented Thunderwolves team.
The Thunderwolves split their two-game series against the McMaster Marauders last weekend. Both were tight games with the Thunderwolves pulling out on top in the first with a last second basket and the Marauders taking the second after the Thunderwolves struggled offensively.
The Rams need to come out of the gate firing, most likely looking to
Jayden Frederick (Scarborough, Ont.) who not only led the team in points in their last matchup, but has had a hot start to this season. On the other side, the Thunderwolves will need to rebound well and have a strong defence against a Rams team that knows how to find open spaces.
Tip off is at 8:00 p.m. both Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd at Coca-Cola Court.
