OTTAWA, Ont. – The No. 2 nationally ranked Ryerson Rams men's soccer team made history on Saturday night, closing out their regular season with a 1-0 victory over the Carleton Ravens to finish the year with an undefeated record for the first time in program history.

What was originally called an own goal, Martin Dabrowksi (Barrie, Ont.) was credited with the lone goal of the game. Dabrowski served in a rocket of a free kick which bounced off a pair of Ravens defenders before crossing the goal line.

The Ryerson coaching staff did a nice job of substituting some players in to not only get more playing time, but to ensure their starters didn't suffer an injury or pick up a card going into the postseason.

One such substitution was goalkeeper Aris Efstathiadis (Toronto) who came on in relief of starter Christian Maraldo (Mississauga, Ont.) in the 63rd minute. Though not tested often, Efstathiadis came up with a big save in stoppage time off a free kick to help preserve the cleansheet and victory for the Rams.

The Rams (12-0-2) finished the year in first place in the OUA east division and will now host an OUA quarter-final game on Sunday, October 27 at Birchmount Stadium at 2:00 p.m. against an opponent yet to be determined.

Should the Rams win their quarter-final, they will play host to the OUA Final Four championship the following weekend.
