The 2024 season is Filip Prostran's ninth as head coach of the TMU men's soccer program.
TMU has qualified for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) playoffs in each of Prostran's seasons as head coach. In the 2022 season, TMU advanced to the OUA championship game for the second time in program history, claiming a silver medal and advancing to the U SPORTS national championship.
In 2021, Prostran led TMU as they posted a 9-2-1 record and won the OUA Central division to clinch their 14th consecutive postseason berth.
TMU earned a 10-3-2 record in 2019 and made the program's 13th consecutive postseason appearance.
Prostran's team would post a nearly perfect regular season record in 2018, going 14-1-1 before making their sixth consecutive appearance in the OUA Final Four provincial championship.
In 2017 Prostran led TMU to an OUA bronze medal, the team's second ever OUA medal and first since 2013.
It was record-breaking season in 2016 for TMU, who finished the season with the nation's best record at 14-1-1 record, which was not only the best in program history, but a U SPORTS record for the best start to a regular season campaign, winning their first 13 games. While the offence was firing on all cylinders, scoring 51 goals for on Canada's third-highest shooting percentage (.245), it was their defence that shone the brightest. TMU defenders conceded just eight goals, which was the best in the OUA and the best in the nation with teams who played 13 or more games. Prostran led TMU to their fourth conseuctive OUA Final Four championship.
In 2015, his first season in the lead role, Prostran led TMU to an impressive 11-2-3 regular season record and a first place finish in the OUA East division. The team advanced to the OUA Final Four for the third straight year and were ranked in the CIS weekly top 10 poll for the entire season, peaking at a program best No. 2.
Before moving into the head coach position, Prostran served as an assistant coach with TMU for five seasons, beginning in August of 2010.
In 2013, Prostran helped guide TMU to their best ever finish including an undefeated regular season and second place finish at the OUA Championship. Their success earned them a trip to the CIS national championship in Fredricton, N.B.
Prior to his arrival at TMU, the USSF B licensed Prostran played professional soccer for three years in Europe.
He also attended Graceland University, playing four seasons.
Prostran graduated from Graceland with a B.A. in Business Administration in 2007.
