Join President Mohamed Lachemi, Interim Provost Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano and Vice-Provost, Students Jen McMillen as we celebrate our next chapter as a university and honour our commitment to environmental sustainability.

As part of the Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC) 10 year anniversary celebrations, TMU's Department of Athletics & Recreation, in collaboration with The Creative School and the Office of Sustainability, will honour the legacy of the Ryerson Rams and the future success of TMU Bold, while shining a light on environmental sustainability. 

Dr. Anika Kozlowski, Assistant Professor of Fashion Design, Ethics & Sustainability at The Creative School, is leading a research project in collaboration with TMU Athletics & Recreation that focuses on responsible textile sorting and recycling. Nineteen Fashion Design alumni have been commissioned to create the TMU Upcycled Gear Collection: 27 one-of-a-kind looks made from upcycled Ryerson University and Rams-branded materials.

This limited edition collection will be showcased on the runway by student-athlete models at the TMU Upcycled Gear Fashion Show at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on November 28, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The commemorative and collectible TMU Upcycled Gear Collection will be auctioned at the event, with all proceeds and ticket sales directed to the TMU Bold Equity and Inclusion Award.

At the intersection of sports, fashion, and environmental sustainability, the TMU Upcycled Gear Collection will embody the art of transforming old university branded textiles into beautiful, innovative and creative expressions. TMU Bold student-athletes strive to be perennial medal contenders in Ontario University Athletics (OUA), and yet many face barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential academically and athletically.

The TMU Bold Equity & Inclusion financial award will support the ambition of student-athletes from equity deserving groups to achieve excellence academically and athletically.
