KINGSTON, Ont. – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team fell 3-1 to the Queen's Gaels at Memorial Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Emily Baxter scored the lone goal for the Bold with
Ahalya Julien-Medeiros and
Megan Breen grabbing the assists.
Lauren Griffin and
Alexia Stratos split the goaltending duties with Griffin making 20 saves and Stratos adding six.
Queen's opened the scoring six minutes into the contest and added a second right before the end of the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the opening break. In the second, the Gaels extended their lead just 19 seconds into the period. Trailing 3-0, the Bold found their first goal of the game when Baxter scored from a spectacular angle to make it a 3-1 game. There were no goals in the third despite the Bold's best efforts pushing forward.
