NORTH BAY, Ont — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's volleyball team battled hard but fell 3-1 to the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday afternoon.

Aidan Suttie and
Ross Buchanan chipped in five kills each, while
Kai Taylor added four kills, five digs, and an ace. Setter
Declan Dunn facilitated the attack with 19 assists and contributed defensively with four digs and two blocks.
TMU came out strong, dominating the opening frame 25-14 behind efficient hitting — recording 10 kills with zero errors for an .833 hitting percentage in the first set. Nipissing answered in the second, overcoming a competitive start to take the set 25-21.
Momentum swung fully toward the Lakers in the third as they capitalized offensively to win 25-12. In the fourth, the Bold stayed within striking distance early but were unable to sustain pressure, ultimately dropping the set 25-15.
Despite the result, TMU showed early execution and strong performances from its core attackers and setter, taking a set and pushing the Lakers in stretches throughout the match.
Next up for the Bold will be a battle against Queen's at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Thursday, November 6 at 6 p.m. Students can attend the match for free with their OneCards.
