OTTAWA – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold Women's hockey team continued their road trip in the nation's capital as they took on the Ottawa Gee-Gees after coming off a big win over the Carleton Ravens the night before.
The Bold fought a back-and-forth battle but a goal in the third period gave the Gee-Gees the upper hand, as the Bold headed home with a 2-4 loss.
Early on both teams had created chances, and the Gee-Gees picked up an early powerplay but the Bold were quick to kill it, relying on
Alexia Stratos who was in the net.
After the halfway mark of the first, the Bold pushed to secure the opening goal, and for
Cailey Davis, a rebound shot led to her first goal of the season.Â
The Gee-Gees tried to tie up the score but by the end of the first, the Bold took the lead.Â
In the second, the Bold fought to keep and extend their lead, but the Gee-Gees netted their first four minutes in, followed by a goal to take the lead late in the second.Â
The Bold were awarded with another powerplay with only a few minutes left in the second. Captain
Emily Baxter came in from the backdoor and netted the game's tying goal.
The third period started with a tie on the scoreboard, and the Bold had to get to work, but a shot through traffic led to a leading goal for the Gee-Gees.
The Bold still had time to close the gap, but a late insurance goal for the Gee-Gees made this a 4-2 game.
The Gee-Gees came out on top with the win. The  Bold will look to rebound r next Friday at the Winter Homecoming game against the Carleton Ravens. Students can get a free wristband for entry to the WOCO Whiteout game.
