TORONTO – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's hockey team hit the ice for their Winter Homecoming (WOCO) whiteout game on Friday night and fell to the Carleton Ravens, 4-0.
After picking up a win over the Ravens last week, the Bold struggled to match the energy of the Ravens in the first period of the rematch as the Ravens netted three goals in the opening frame.
The Bold hoped to pick up the momentum going into the second period but the team couldn't find their groove.Â
"It's been a tough week. We had a flu bug go through our team, so we didn't get a lot of preparation together, and we're not sure our gas tanks were as full as they normally are heading into the first game," said head coach
Lisa Haley.
The Ravens fired in their fourth goal late in the second period to make it a 4-0 game.Â
WOCO had a good turnout as fans continued cheering on the Bold throughout the game.Â
In the third period, the Bold picked up the pace and gave the Ravens a hard time as they prevented Carleton from adding any additional goals.
Eden Dusome played well for the Bold and was chosen as the player of the game in the locker room.
"It feels good to know that your team sees how hard you're working and how hard everyone contributes to this," said Dusome.Â
The Bold will be back on home ice tomorrow at 6:15 pm to face the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. TMU students can attend for free with their one card.
