The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) baseball team is pleased to announce the following details for the 2024 season's open tryouts:

When: Tryout is being held on August 26th
Registration begins at 6:45 p.m. Tryout runs from 7 - 9:30 p.m.

Where: Concord Regional Park Field #1 (299 Racco Pkwy, Thornhill, ON L4J 8X9)

Cost: $30, must be paid through our registration portal prior to arriving at the tryout

Eligibility: The tryout is open to all students who will be registered as 'full-time' at the start of the fall 2024 semester. 

How to register: YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE TRYOUT IN ADVANCE. Complete the following Google Form and the TMU Athlete Waiver of Claims and Assumption of Risks form. Both forms must be completed in advance of the tryout in addition to the tryout fee; those who have not completed the forms will be unable to participate in the tryout.

What to bring: Baseball glove, batting helmet, baseball bat, athletic clothes (baseball pants if you have, but not absolutely necessary), cleats (if you have, but not absolutely necessary), anything else you would typically need for outdoor summer activity (hat, sunscreen, water, etc).

Equipment: The team will supply baseballs. Catchers should bring their own catchers gear, as it will not be provided to them.

What to expect: Prospective players will be put through a series of drills and practices so they may showcase their skills/talent/ability to the coaching staff.

Rain?: If on the day of the tryout rain makes the field unplayable, registered students will be contacted via email in advance to alert them of the cancellation, and will be provided with details of an alternative tryout.

Final note: Those who have been asked to return to continue to tryout will be informed by the coaching staff. The second tryout will be Tuesday, August 27.
