LONDON, Ont. – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's hockey team fell 3-1 to the Western Mustangs in their first of two games on the road to end the fall semester.
The first period was slow around the nets but proved to be a fight between the two teams.Â
Going into the first intermission, the score was 0-0.
A minute into the second, the Mustangs opened the scoring to take a one-goal lead.
The Bold had to fire back, but were overworked on killing many penalties
The Mustangs secured another goal to make it a two goal lead.Â
The Bold played a frustrating match against the Mustangs, mostly battling through unfortunate penalties.Â
At the end of the second, the Bold were down by two but had 20 minutes left to fight.Â
The Bold pushed back and in their final powerplay of the night,
Slava Melikov netted a goal, cutting the lead in half.Â
With seconds left on the clock, the Mustangs scored another empty netter, making the final score 3-1.
The Bold fought for 60 minutes but in the end it wasn't enough.Â
