WATERLOO, Ont. –The Toronto Metropolitan Bold women's hockey team suffered a tough 9-2 defeat against the No. 8 ranked Waterloo Warriors on Friday night. The Warriors entered the contest with a 5-1 record after a strong start to the season.
Coming off of their two game win streak, the Warriors were ready to take control of their home ice. Offensively, they dominated with 17 shots on net in the first.Â

Lauren Griffin made a strong effort to protect the net, blocking shots when she could. However, Waterloo's offensive push resulted in an early powerplay goal to claim the lead five minutes into the game.
Pushing off of that momentum, the Warriors proceeded to get an additional power play goal, making it a 2-0 game.Â
The Bold's
Megan Breen responded to the early lead with a swift wrist shot goal, making it a one-goal game.
Despite Breen's efforts to shrink the lead, the Warriors finished off the first with two more goals, making the score 4-1.
In the second period the Warriors continued to command the rink. They scored two more goals at the start of the period to extend their lead.

Emily Baxter put the puck in the back of the net, bringing the score to 6-2.
Struggling to keep up with the Warriors pressure and speed on the ice in the third, the Bold let in three more goals. .
