Lully, Solano Thrive as Bold Cruise Past Paladins

KINGSTON, Ont. – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's soccer team rolled past the RMC Paladins on Sunday, winning 2-0 to split their final road trip of the season.

The Bold were able to put aside their defensive ailments that chased them around the pitch for seven goals against Queen's and pick up a clean-sheet victory with ease over the Paladins on Sunday, gathering goal-support from a pair of their third-year veterans to help cruise them over the line.

Aalayah Lully got the Bold on the board in the 37th minute, scoring from the penalty spot after TMU's Jazz Dev was taken to the ground in the preceding build-up.

Lully shined for the visitors throughout the opening half, leading the Bold with two shots and threading the needle on several key scoring chances involving her teammates.

Heading into the break with a one-goal lead, the Bold were able to put the game away just 12 minutes into the second half to successfully secure points on the weekend.

Gabrielle Solano provided the clinching goal for the Toronto side, picking the bottom left corner of the Paladins' goal to vault the Bold towards their sixth win of the season - their highest total since going 6-7-3 in 2019.

Sitting in fourth place in the OUA East division, the Bold will have two more chances to improve their record before locking in their seeding ahead of the league playoffs set to commence on Oct. 19.

TMU will look to do just that starting with a victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday to kick off their final homestand of the season.

Kickoff from Downsview Park is set for 1 p.m. Catch the action live on OUA.tv.
