Bold secure second win on strength of Perez's two goals

KINGSTON, Ont. - The TMU Bold women's soccer team bounced back from a difficult loss against the Queen's Gaels, but that was all the motivation they needed for Sunday's match. Taking on the RMC Paladins, goalkeeper Abby Harrison started in net and recorded four saves total.

After not seeing a win in the last few weeks, the Bold were not backing down without a fight. They started steady in hopes of making a breakthrough. The Bold were quick to take over possession and play offensively, taking a total of 11 shots on goal.

RMC scored their first goal quickly, but an own goal by an RMC striker tied up the game for the Bold in the 42nd minute.

In no time, the Bold took control of the game. OUA all-star Ivymae Perez scored an unassisted goal in the last few minutes of the first half making the score 2-1.

Returning to the second half, the Bold did not back down. The 2-1 lead gave them the push to keep the RMC well out of their zone.

RMC players were given two yellow cards, and the Bold team was given one, the rivalry frustration was beginning to settle in near the end of the game.

With seconds left to go before the final whistle, Perez scored the third goal of the game in the 90th minute, giving TMU their second victory of the regular season.

The TMU Bold women's soccer team will return home with a win under their belts and will prepare to face the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on home pitch after a bye-week on October 7th.
