Bold baseball head into postseason following one-win weekend

The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's baseball squad wrapped up the final weekend of their regular season this past Sunday, registering just a lonesome win to drop their 2023 record to 4-9-1.

TMU kicked off their weekend with a scorching start - defeating the University of Toronto (UofT) Varsity Blues 10-9 - but fell off the tracks immediately after with consecutive losses to the Varsity Blues and visiting Brock Badgers.

The Bold's limited offense was highlighted by rookie infielder Aidan Quimpo's first-career OUA longball, slamming a ball over the left field wall of Dan Lang Field in his side's only win of the weekend.

Lackluster hitting and wayward performances from TMU's bump played a critical role in shaping the Bold's misfortunes over the last two days, leaving many questions to be answered as the group turns the page to the OUA postseason.

The most pivotal stretch of games opens this weekend for the Bold as they look to punch their first ever ticket to the OUA final four. The Bold have dropped seven of their last eight contests since sweeping the defending champions in the second week of the regular season.

TMU will begin their postseason campaign this upcoming Friday when they take on the Varsity Blues at Vaughan Grove Field. The first pitch to the Bold's playoff run flies at 11:30.
