Rams reach Regional Qualifer final but end season in Sudbury

SUDBURY, Ont. - The Rams baseball team wrapped up their season at the OUA Regional Qualifer this past weekend in Sudbury, posting a round-robin record of 2-1 to advance to the Qualifier final before falling to the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Rams started the weekend with a wild 12-9 victory over the York Lions before falling to the Varsity Blues in their second game of the day on Saturday. With a 1-1 record after the first day, the Rams went into their final round-robin contest against Laurentian with a spot in the final on the line.

Against the home town Voyageurs, the Rams edged out an 8-6 victory for a chance to play for a berth in the OUA championship.

In the Qualifer final against Toronto, the Varsity Blues asserted their high-powered offence early on and cruised to a 13-3 win to earn the right to play at the OUA championship next weekend.
