Rams wrap up regular season at home

TORONTO – The No. 4 Ryerson Rams are back at home for their final two games of the regular season this weekend.

Coming off of a three-game win streak, the Rams look to finish the season with two more wins and lock in a first-place finish in the OUA central division. Tied once more with the Brock Badgers, the Rams have a chance of coming out on top as the Badgers must still face the No. 1 Ottawa Gee-Gees and No. 10 Carleton Ravens this week.

The Rams face off against the Nipissing Lakers first, on Friday. The Rams have won the past seven matchups, including two 30-plus point wins last season. Rams players Hayley Robertson (Toronto), Marin Scotten (Ottawa, Ont.) and Emma Fraser (Toronto) all had good games against the Lakers last season, reaching double digits in scoring. Meanwhile, the Lakers had trouble finding shots and getting stops. This season does not seem to be any different as the Lakers have a 4-16 record and are coming off of a 105-53 blowout by the Queen's Gaels. As one of the best scoring teams in the league, look for the Rams to extend their win streak over the Lakers to eight.

Next up is the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday. The Rams also lead the all-time series between these teams, winning the past 10 matchups. The last time the Voyageurs visited Coca-Cola Court the Rams defeated them 80-45 with standout performances from Robertson and Stefanija Mrvaljevic (Mississauga, Ont.). The Rams should come away with another win as the Voyageurs have only one win in the past 15 games, and three wins in the whole season. Their last win was just last week, a one-point advantage against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on a buzzer beater. The Voyageurs will have a tough time taking care of the Rams' quick and precise offence and penetrating their defence.

The Rams play the Lakers on Friday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m. ET, and the Voyageurs the following day, Saturday, February 15 on Senior Night at 6:00 p.m. ET. Stream the games live on OUA.tv.
