KINGSTON — Two Ryerson Rams sophomores scored their first OUA goals en route to a 3-0 victory over the RMC Paladins on Sunday afternoon at Navy Bay Fields in Kingston.
The win over RMC marked the Rams' first of the 2019 season and their first road victory since October 2017.
An uneventful opening 45 minutes saw the Rams and the Paladins deadlocked at zero, but the game wouldn't remain scoreless for very much longer.
BreAnah Webster (Pickering, Ont.) set up fellow defender
Samantha Naus (Brampton, Ont.) in the 54th minute to open up the scoring and put Ryerson ahead 1-0. Naus' goal was the first of her OUA career.
Fourth-year midfielder
Sidnee Richardson (Calgary, Alta.) would follow up Naus' tiebreaking marker with a goal of her own just eight minutes later, giving Ryerson a 2-0 lead 12 minutes into the second half. Richardson's goal was assisted by fifth-year defender

Kaleigh McKye(Toronto, Ont.) set up second-year midfielder
Brooke Pearson (Pickering, Ont.) to add an insurance goal with under eight minutes remaining in the match. Pearson's goal and McKye's assist marked their first career OUA points.
A strong second-half performance allowed the Rams to prevail in a 3-0 victory over RMC. Fifth-year goalkeeper
Elisa Lapadula (Brampton, Ont.) made one save in her first clean sheet of the year as the Rams outshot RMC 17-1 through 90 minutes.
The Rams improve to a 1-1-0 record after Sunday's win over the Paladins. Ryerson will head home to prepare for their home opener on Saturday, September 7th against the Queen's Gaels. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Downsview Park.
