TORONTO – The No. 5 Ryerson Rams are back at home this week on Friday, November 8th, as they matchup against the Windsor Lancers.
The Rams were dominant this past weekend as they swept a two-game series against the Lakehead Thunderwolves, improving to 3-1. The Rams controlled both games from start to finish, staying strong on defence and creating turnovers. It also helped that they have such a wide range of shooters to choose from with multiple players showing their skill beyond the arc.
The Lancers, who are undefeated, are coming off their own dominating 72-34 win against the Nipissing Lakers. They were able to hold the Lakers to only single-digit points throughout the second, third and fourth quarters, while being consistent themselves offensively. Guard Jordan Gutt led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Rams are 6-15 against the Lancers dating back to 2004, but last season Ryerson picked up a 78-47 win where Rams forward
Jama Bin-Edward (Waterloo, Ont.) set a career-high in points with 23. This matchup is going to be a test for both teams.
Ryerson will need to work to get their own rebounds against the Lancers' bigs and continue to find openings for their shooters to do their jobs. The Lancers, on the other side, are going to have to find a way to defend against a quick and sneaky Rams offence.
Tip off is at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8th, at Coca-Cola Court.
