TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams men's volleyball team is looking for their first win of the season on a road trip that will see two weeknight games. The Rams will face the York Lions on Wednesday night and the Nipissing Lakers on Friday night.
With both the Lions and the Lakers starting their seasons undefeated, the Rams will face yet another test matchup early on in their season.Â
The Lions are 1-0 so far this season after defeating the Queen's Gaels 3-1 in their home opener. The Lions were led by first-year outside hitter Luke De Greeff who tallied 12 kills on 20 attacks, giving him an impressive .400 hitting percentage for the match.Â
Friday night's matchup, the Nipissing Lakers are 2-0 to start the season and are yet to drop a set, after defeating both RMC and the Queen's Gaels 3-0. The Rams will look to shut down Lakers outside hitters Curtis MacPherson and Grady McClure who have a combined 36 kills so far this season.Â
Rams outside hitter
Xander Ketrzynski (Toronto) had a game-high of 28 kills during their home opener, but the Rams will look to get better production from other players who remained rather quiet against the Blues in their first match.
Navreet Suhan (Mississauga, Ont.) and
Joel Hannan (Toronto) will be looked upon to deliver more on offence to help the team earn both road victories.Â
The Rams will face the Lions this Wednesday at the Tait McKenzie at 6 p.m. and against the Lakers at the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre this Friday at 8 p.m.Â
