Rams to start busy month at home

TORONTO - This November, the Ryerson Rams will hit the ice for ten total games, with seven on Mattamy Home Ice. Coming off a five game road trip, the squad will look to thrive at home.

The Rams have had a challenging first seven games to the season. They have faced the top-three OUA West teams of Toronto and Guelph twice so far. Last Saturday, they battled for a single point in a shootout loss against top seed Windsor. Through October, the Rams have posted a 3-2-2 record. Hungry for more success, the Rams' busy November gets underway on Friday against Laurentian on home ice.

Home-ice advantage has yet to be clearly established this season for Ryerson. Last season, when the Rams finished atop the OUA West division, their home record was 8-3-3. This year, the Rams split their first two home games.

Not only will the Rams see plenty of home ice, they also have a much lighter schedule. Laurentian will enter the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Friday having dropped their last four games. On Saturday night, the Rams take on the RMC Paladins, who have lost five in a row.

Garrett Forrest (Ashburn, Va.) has been stellar in net. The second-year netminder earned himself a Star of the Week honour after shutting out the Windsor Lancers and making consistent stops all season. Mathew Santos (Toronto) and David Miller (Burlington, Ont.) have been on fire. Santos leads the Rams with nine points and is tied with Miller for scoring lead as the pair have four goals apiece. Six Ryerson skaters are operating at a point-per-game or higher, demonstrating the Rams' high-octane offense.

Head coach Johnny Duco and the Rams will be ready to go this weekend, looking to jumpstart their November in this week's back-to-back. Both games are set for 7:15 p.m. at Mattamy Home Ice, and Ryerson students can attend for free with their OneCard.
